十一面観音ほのか星涼し
The Kannon with the eleven faces
dimly visible
under the crisp stars

　

弥陀の名を螢のごとく呼びにけり
Exhaling the name of Amida Buddha
like fireflies

　

きさらぎは雀飛び立つ硯かな
February is an inkstone,
from which sparrows
Flying away

　

玉繭の外にいて玉繭のなか
Out of a cocoon
among the cocoons

　

底無しを隠す花野となりにけり
Autumn flowers
covering over the bottomless

　

龍天に登る月夜の蘇鉄かな
A dragon of cycad
rising after the moon

　

春の月あそことここの間なり
The spring moon
between here and there　

　

鍵をかけ忘れていたり天狗茸
A death cap;
forgetting to lock the door

　

クリスマスツリーは逆さまだと思う
A christmas tree;
seeing it as upside-down

　

真鍮の取っ手ありけり雪の果て
A brass knob to be
over the last snow

　　

蝶々や海へと抜ける穴ありき
Fluttering butterfly;
a hole around there
Leading to the ocean

　

山藤が山藤を吐きつづけおり
Clusters of wisterias
spitting themselves out　

　

半身を魚に囲まれている土曜
The lower half of my body
surrounded by ocean fish-
