弥陀の名を螢のごとく呼びにけり
Exhaling the name of Amida Buddha
like fireflies

　

きさらぎは雀飛び立つ硯かな
February is an inkstone,
from which sparrows
Flying away

　

玉繭の外にいて玉繭のなか
Out of a cocoon
among the cocoons

　

底無しを隠す花野となりにけり
Autumn flowers
covering over the bottomless

　

龍天に登る月夜の蘇鉄かな
A dragon of cycad
rising after the moon

　

春の月あそことここの間なり
The spring moon
between here and there　

　

鍵をかけ忘れていたり天狗茸
A death cap;
forgetting to lock the door

　

クリスマスツリーは逆さまだと思う
A christmas tree;
seeing it as upside-down

　

真鍮の取っ手ありけり雪の果て
A brass knob to be
over the last snow

　　

蝶々や海へと抜ける穴ありき
Fluttering butterfly;
a hole around there
Leading to the ocean

　

山藤が山藤を吐きつづけおり
Clusters of wisterias
spitting themselves out　

　

半身を魚に囲まれている土曜
The lower half of my body
surrounded by ocean fish-
